Seeking a Host Family

French Language Assistant

Preshil is a participant in the International School Language Assistants Program which places native language speakers in schools across Australia.

As a school that teaches French from Kindergarten to Year 12, we are committed to supporting all our students to become confident and informed global citizens.

Expanding, improving and enriching our language program is a central part of this and to date we have hosted Jennifer, Celia, Melisande and Juldana who have successfully assisted our students in the development of their language learning, under the supervision of the classroom teachers.

We have received an application from a French speaking Belgian volunteer, Alizée Marbaix, who is a qualified Kindergarten teacher and after completing her degree completed an internship in a local primary school prior to commencing a Master in Psychomotricity.   Alizée is hoping to start a career as a teacher or speech therapist.  Her interests include painting, drawing, photography, dancing, swimming, skiing and going for walks.  She has a passion for travel and is keen to visit Australia and discover its landscape and people and lifestyle.  As a French speaker a Alizée will be able to contribute to the language programs at Preshil in many different ways.

Alizée will be at Preshil for Term 2, 23 April to 21 June.  She will work across both campuses supporting the French students through conversation, games, songs and supporting the class teachers. We are looking for a host family who can provide Alizée with her own bedroom and meals.  Preshil families have generously provided homes for our previous volunteers, and we hope again to find a host family from within the school; if you are interested or would like to discuss this further, please contact Reception at either campus.
