Spring Dinner

Still time to get on board...
With our annual fundraising gala now only a week away, the organising team is in full swing. As a community, it’s now time to come together to make this a truly amazing event. Our students in the Kitchen Garden elective are busy planning the menu; our Years 7 and 8 Art students are overlaying lino cuts to create gorgeous table runners; and our musicians are rehearsing the music for the evening.
HERE ARE A NUMBER OF WAYS PARENTS AND EXTENDED FAMILIES CAN HELP:
1. Our chefs need to cater for all dietary requirements so please don't wait until the last minute, book your tickets NOW through trybooking here.
Grab your family members or friends and book a table, organise a year level table, or simply join an existing table. If you are unable to attend, please consider making a donation. These donations ensure that our outgoing expenses for the evening are kept to a minimum.
2. Silent Auction items
Our Silent Auction adds some spice to the evening through friendly rivalry and fun shopping opportunities. We are seeking donations, no matter how big or small, and offer the following suggestions for your consideration:
- holiday homes
- retail or service vouchers including cafes and restaurants
- jewellery
- beauty products including hairdressers, massage and homeopathy
- clothing
- artwork and sculptures
- furniture
- items for hampers including children’s clothes and toys, stationery and gourmet food.
If you are able to canvass retailers in your local area, we can provide you with a letter of introduction if you wish (please email Nerel).
3. Donations of food and wine
As this is our only fundraiser for the year, naturally we try to keep overheads to a minimum. We would be most grateful for donations of wine (which can be served on the evening) or ingredients used in the menu (please contact Nerel for a complete ingredient list). A small donation such as this can make a significant difference.
4. Calling our sewing community
As our Years 7 and 8 Art students near completion of their designs, we are seeking some assistance from our capable sewing community to overlock the placemats. Please let Nerel know if you are able to take a small bundle home.
5. Library transformation
The banner at the top of this page is inspiration for how our library can transform into a Bedouin tent and set the atmosphere for a wonderful night. We kindly ask you to clean out your scarves drawer and donate any pre-loved items. If you have a chance and enjoy trawling through opportunity shops, please consider purchasing some unique scarves. We are also looking for white rectangular table clothes and/or white sheets (which can be returned if desired). The office will be most happy to accept these eclectic donations by next Monday 10 September.
Finally, if you are able to, we would love your help on the day to transform the library into a Middle Eastern bazaar. Please let Nerel know if she can expect you.
Our Spring Dinner is going to be a memorable evening
so get on board the caravanserai and be part of the action.
