The Royal Melbourne Hospital Live Music Festival
Our amazing Preshil musicians shared their talents, hard work and love of music with the very appreciative crowd at the hospital’s Live Music Festival on Friday 5 May. Ensemble performances included Strings Attached serenading the audience with music by Sibelius and Smetana, the Pavement Choir captivating the crowd with Seasons of Love and Bohemian Rhapsody, the Year 9 Band stunning everyone with Eleanor Theeboom's original composition and The Stellas’ mesmerising rendition of Regina Spektor’s Us.
Year 12 soloists also took to the stage and had the audience begging for more. Winnie amazed us all with his incredible skill, Ted had everyone grooving in their seats, Josh calmed us all down with peaceful minimalism, Hayden filled our ears with beauty and Ryn made us cry. They all dazzled us with their passion, skill and musicality.
It was a day of bringing joy, happiness and serenity to the people at The Royal Melbourne Hospital. The audience so appreciated Preshil's performances, with many telling the parents and teachers present of their wonderment and pleasure in hearing our youth perform with such integrity and determination.
Michelle and I were so proud of our students, their performances, their appreciation of other people's performances and their willingness to give up time to help bring joy and beauty to the hospital’s patients and their families.

All That Jazz! music night
Our annual jazz night is coming up on Thursday 1 June. This year it will be held at Noel Crombie's venue, Emulation Hall, in Canterbury. (Noel is an ex-parent of Preshil whom you may remember as the drummer from Split Enz.)
Emulation Hall is a magnificent Masonic temple of Egyptian revival style designed in the late 1920s and has recently been beautifully restored to its former glory. It has a stunning circular room upstairs which will allow us to have three small stages operating. Parents are able to purchase alcohol at the venue, however dinner is not available.
Please join us for a fabulous night of music...and all that jazz!
