VCAL Student Profiles
Ebony Scott
Ebony is currently a Year 12 VCAL student. Her pathway;
Year 10 - A School Based Apprenticeship (SBAT) in Educational Support through VFA / Utrain. She was employed to work at the Marnebek School, St Agatha's Primary School and an aged care position in Cranbourne.
Year 11 - Ebony transferred from VCE to VCAL and began a course in Community Services. She also undertook a work placement with Blairlogie Living and Learning. She also undertook work with soup vans and serving food for the underprivileged in Narre Warren.
Year 12 - This year she is completing an SBAT with VFA / UTrain in Allied Health. She is employed at Blairlogie Living and Learning.
Ebony hopes to undertake further study next year by completing a Certificate III in Disability and then obtain employment in this area. She finds fulfilment in her placement in helping others and seeing her clients appreciate her help. Seeing client progression with her assistance also brings enjoyment to the role.

Nathan Corrigan
Nathan was a Year 11 VCAL student in 2019 who was completing his second year in VET Building and Construction at St. Peter’s College. Nathan undertook Year 10 VCAL in Semester 2 where he was given the opportunity to experience chosen industries in building and gas plumbing. These experiences inspired him to follow the building industry.
Nathan began his work placement this year with Peninsula Concept Carpentry. He came across this placement via Facebook. After completing 6 weeks of work placement, Nathan has been offered an apprenticeship, which he begun at the start of Term 2.
Well done Nathan and we wish you well as you start your career in building.
Bailey East
Bailey is currently a Year 12 VCAL student. In Yr 10, Bailey began his VET Building and Construction course and completed this in Year 11 whilst also completing a work placement in building. Bailey has recently undertaken a SBAT in building which means he will begin to complete his qualification whilst being able to complete Year12.
