School Holiday programs

School holidays are a great time to research future course and career options.  Many of the TAFE’s and Universities are offering great programs allowing students to sample the program and speak with the teachers.  Some programs have a cost and students must register before attending as numbers will be capped. 

Chisholm Institute

Tech Games Fest 2019

Dates: Saturday 29 June to Monday 1 July, 2019

Now in its fifth year, Tech Games Fest (TGF) will be held at Chisholm’s Frankston location during the school holidays from 29 June to July 1. The annual three-day event is an opportunity for secondary school students, their parents and the general public who are interested in gaming and technology to learn and network with other like-minded people and industry representatives, and get information about a career in the ICT industry.

 

TGF is free to attend and will feature gaming, networking, programming, virtual reality, ethical hacking, pop culture, card and board games, e-sports tournaments, video games, talks from industry sponsors and more, including the popular cosplay competition.

 

9 - 12 July 2019 – Frankston Campus from 9.30 am to 3.30 pm

Workshops are aimed at students in Years 9 - 12 (aged 14 to 19) to assist in exploring different career paths and courses that are available during and post school. These workshops are also an opportunity to learn new skills and make new friends.

Each workshop costs $15, includes a light lunch and will run for approximately five hours covering a range of subject areas. Students who have participated in these workshops have found it helpful in making informed subject choices and identifying a clearer career and study pathway.
