Web Publishing at St. Peter’s College
Students in Web Publishing this semester have been busy evaluating different websites, creating their design briefs, learning about photo adjustments on Adobe Photoshop and creating their original websites on Dreamweaver. Term 1 was spent planning their designs and completing their briefs and Term 2 it is all about collaborating with each other to create their original websites.
They have gained crucial skills and knowledge about coding and how HTML and CSS work. This is done through class demonstration as well as working on Code Avengers. For those who do not know what Code Avengers is, it is an online tool where students complete lessons about different coding methods. For example, they would use the code <br></br> to create a space between paragraphs.
Students have recently completed adding tabs on their websites, changing the website background and linking the tabs. This means they are very close to having fully functional websites.
As this is an elective subject students who choose to do it are very interested about how websites function and how to create them.
“Web Publishing is my favourite class because of how interactive it is. This class has taught me how to make a website on Dreamweaver. I have learnt the basics to Photoshop and Dreamweaver and I learnt some simple coding on Code Avengers. I have enjoyed every bit of it. I have learnt with and from my peers and created stronger bonds in this class”. Morgan Parker
