Who Loves a Challenge?
Who loves to be part of a team striving to break a record?
This year we will be encouraging our students to strive towards breaking the 2018 School record for the number of students who completed the Premier’s Reading Challenge.
You can choose books that stretch you, or books within your category that give you a sense of comfort or fun, a wider view of the world or yourself, or simply the satisfaction of reaching the end of a well-told tale. Whether it’s animals or adventure, sport, dance, mystery, romance, amazing facts or journeys of imagination … please, students, give it a go this year!
Families and carers … please support your young readers with the assurance that reading is important for more than breaking a school record … it is a wonderful skill and habit to carry into their whole of life walk.
167 students. That stands as the record. Our new way of recording each student’s finished form will show their contribution to the overall result.
167 - Let’s break through that number and have more students – secondary and primary – boosting our total well past that.
As each student hands in their completed form their name will be added to the Progress Thermometer. So when you visit the Resource Centre, look for the “Progress Thermometer” poster that will display the progress towards our team goal.
