Swimming Carnival

On Wednesday the 26th March we had our Swimming Carnival at the Strathalbyn Pool. Of all days it had to be on the one day of the week that it was raining. The rain definitely made it difficult, but we all made it through with the help of our teachers and the student House Captains. Thankfully the pool was heated so the students still enjoyed participating and playing around at recess and lunch. It was not only good to see students showing companionship and teamwork to their classmates throughout the day but, it was also good for us older students to really get to know the younger students and their amazing swimming abilities.

By the end of the day we were all very tired, but everyone kept pushing until the very last race. It was all worth it in the end because we got to see our Principal, Mr Cheesman, as well as other teachers jump in the pool and race a team of high school students and another of primary students. In the end Finniss became the 2020 Swim Carnival winners, putting their name on the shield for the very first time. They were all very happy to know that all of the hard work paid off.

Even though my team didn’t win, it was still an amazing day and I have made memories that will stick with me for a very long time.
