Big Breakfast
Our Big Breakfast was a huge success on Tuesday and it was wonderful to see so many families taking time to socialise. Thank you to our helpers who assisted with the shopping and set up especially Belinda Miller, Tina Cuni and Tim Karla.
A huge thank you also to Mr Hyde for joining us. It was so good to see him back and I know he appreciated all the good wishes and hugs!!
And sincere apologies for the late arrival of the Coffee van!!!
Thank you also for your generous donation of $290 in support of our first Social Justice initiative for the year. The money will be donated to Caritas Australia's Project Compassion Appeal.
PFA News
Welcome to the 2019 school year, we trust you had a lovely time munching and mingling with fellow CCK families at Tuesday morning's Big Breakfast! As a PFA we see this event as a great opportunity for our school community to come together to kick off the big year ahead.... as well as giving us an excuse to eat donuts for breakfast!!
It was wonderful to have Mr Hyde as our guest of honour and we thank him for joining us in our first event for the year.
Events such as this, along with the Easter Raffle, Mother's and Father's Day Breakfasts & Stalls, Footy Colours Day, School Disco, and a range of social and fundraising events are all PFA initiatives and take a team of volunteers to organise. As a group our main aim is to build strong working relationships among parents, students and teachers, and also have a whole lot of fun along the way!
For those of you who are new to CCK, we meet once or twice a term and you are most welcome to come along to a meeting as extra hands and ideas are always appreciated. Our next meeting will be held in the staff room at 7:00 pm on Tuesday 5th March and we look forward to seeing you there.
Kind regards
Belinda Miller

Open Mornings : School Tours
Our Open Mornings, specifically tailored for our Year Prep 2020 intake will take place on Wednesday 20th March and Friday 29th March.
Our Year 5/6 Leaders will be available to take new and existing families on school tours between 9:00 and 11:00 am. Feel free to pass this information on to families you know who may be searching for a school for their child next year.
Condolences
We offer our sincere condolences to Mrs Isabella Sabatino on the passing of her father. Please keep Isabella and her family in your prayers during this very difficult time.
Student Banking
A reminder that our Student Banking Program, facilitated by the Bendigo Bank Seddon Community Bank is now operating every Thursday morning, before school, at our Pop-Up Bank located just outside the Year 1/2 Learning Community. Piggy, the Bendigo Bank mascot, will be visiting us this Thursday so come along and say hello!
Prep Learning Conferences
This term Learning Conferences for our Prep children have been scheduled for Wednesday 6th March: 2:00pm - 6:00pm. Please note that there will be normal classes running all day for Prep children.
As the child is at the heart of everything we do we ask that all children attend the Learning Conferences with their parents. For Prep parents with an interview prior to 3:30pm we ask that you collect your child from their classroom and take them with you to the interview area.
We understand that at times, there may be a need to address matters that ‘aren’t meant for the child’s ears’ and we will certainly accommodate those needs towards the end of the appointment time.
We hope that the opportunity for all to take part in these Learning Conferences proves most beneficial. The meetings will be scheduled every 12 minutes. We understand that in some special cases a longer time will be required and if this is the case you are asked to make alternative arrangements with your class teacher.
Prep families are to use School Interviews Online to manage bookings. Please go to www.schoolinterviews.com.au and follow these simple instructions to book interviews for the times that suit your family. BOOKINGS ARE NOW OPEN.
Have a wonderful week
