Year 5 - Sovereign Hill - Costume School

On Thursday 22nd and Friday 23rd of August the Grade 5’s travelled back in time as part of their history studies to Sovereign Hill. Dressed in 19th century-style clothing, and using classrooms and equipment typical of the era, students experienced two memorable days in one of the five themed schools as they role-played the lives of goldfields students and developed an understanding of social conditions during the great Victorian gold rushes. It was a great ‘first-hand’ experience for all involved, many walking away with new found knowledge, understanding and appreciation for what was and for what we now have.
