Prayer

Dear gracious and loving God, we pray for a special blessing for each of our Year 12 graduands.  

We ask, now, for your almighty hand to be upon our graduands as they and their families celebrate this great milestone.

May they find strength in the excellence of their academic preparation and may they find comfort from our community's continued embrace and support as they journey through life.

Bless their lives from this day on with goodness and success. Empower them to walk into the future with faith, hope, and great love guided by your light so that they may use their talents to

 "Go forth and set the world on fire."

Enable them

to stay true to their dreams; 

 to discern what is right, good and just, and 

 to use their gifts wisely and in service to others. 

Amen.

Year 12 Twilight Retreat

On Wednesday 9 September, our Year 12 students attended their final Retreat.  During the Retreat the students reflected on 13 years of schooling and on their years together at McCarthy, with particular focus on the challenges and obstacles they have met and overcome through the years.  Students also rejoiced in the successes they have achieved along the way, with their moving on in the world a key focus.  

Due to the ongoing COVID-19 restrictions our Year 12 Thanksgiving Mass was held during the Retreat. On behalf of the students I would like to express grateful appreciation to Father Chris for celebrating the Mass for the Year 12 students and their families. An additional thank you to our IT department for organising the live feed to parents, enabling them to partake in the best way they could.  Following Holy Communion the congregation enjoyed a prayerful reflection on the many beautiful family photos had been submitted. At the end of the Thanksgiving Mass each student received a small wooden cross, blessed by Father Chris, as a reminder of the price Christ was willing to pay for each of our students. 

Condolences

Our thoughts and prayers are with Mrs Madden, Vance and Danny Madden and their family and to Mary Howard and her family after the passing of their respective grandfathers.
