Grevillea House
I would like warmly to welcome everyone back to Term 4. We are all very excited to welcome all of our students back to on-site teaching and learning as we have missed them all very much.
We are proud of all of our students for their efforts during these challenging times. I would however like to acknowledge our Year 12 students who have continued to show resilience in the face of a very adverse year. They have returned to school with an eagerness to learn and complete their studies. We are truly impressed with the amount of leadership they have exhibited and the positivity they have brought with them.
Our Year 12 leaders, Donika and Jethro, have been instrumental in working with Ryan Anderson to help create the padlet with their memories from school and photos of their younger selves. We will be collating these memories for them as a gift as they prepare to leave our school and enter the amazing and fantastic opportunities that lie ahead for them.
Even though we spent all of last term in remote and flexible learning, we were still able to provide our students with opportunities in online platforms.
A group of Year 11 students participated in an online program called Focus, run by the Australian Business and Community Network. The ABCN has a long standing partnership with Dandenong High School, and provides our students with many fantastic opportunities. The program in Term 3 was the first ever online workshop run by the ABCN and our student participants said that the program created an empowering feeling of connection and community during remote learning.
My hope for this term is that we can spend all of it at school and that I am able to share more news and success stories with you during the term. Stay safe and well.
