Congratulations to Year 12 student Daniel Shen. Daniel’s short film – “Dead Weight”- has been shortlisted for Top Screen 2019.
This is an outstanding effort and an amazing achievement . Many Unit 3 / 4 Media students apply for Top Screen. If Daniel’s film is accepted, his work will be screened at ACMI. Folios are also displayed there.
Daniel will find out if he is successful in January 2019.

Artist of the Week
Congratulations to Jasmine Nicol (9D) who has been selected as this week's KSC Artist of the Week.
Jasmine was nominated for Artist of the Week by her Art teacher, Amy McLellan. Jasmine completed this acrylic canvas landscape painting as part of her Impressionist Landscape Painting Class assessment task.
Jasmine has created an exceptionally expressive landscape painting inspired by the Impressionist painters. Students in Year 9 Art explore the theory behind the Impressionist Art era and the Impressionist painting techniques in order to create their own artwork.
Jasmine has extended the ways in which the Impressionists used colour. I am impressed with her ability to work so naturally in the medium. Well done Jasmine!

Please read what Jasmine has written to describe her art piece:
The weirdest compliment I received while painting this was that I might be the secret love child of American painter, Bob Ross. I’m not an expert in painting or backgrounds but I wanted to challenge myself. I’m happy with how it turned out.
