Middle School Update

As we approach the end of the school year, it is a busy time in the Middle Years Area. The Middle Years team is currently organising Year 7, Year 8 and Year 9 classes for 2019, as well as meeting with the Senior School team to ensure all current Year 9 students have a smooth transition into Year 10 for 2019. The Middle Years Team also had the pleasure of selecting students for awards for Presentation Evening.

On Tuesday 11 December 2018 we will be welcoming our new Year 7 students for 2019 for their Year 7 Koonung Secondary College Orientation day.

Year 8 students have now all been allocated their elective selections for Year 9 2019. We endeavoured to provide the opportunity for as many students as possible to have their first choices (within the constraints of the timetable). Koonung Secondary College provides an amazing breadth of elective subjects for Year 9 students to enable them to have a wide experience of subjects before they make their VCE class selections in Senior School.

Year 9 Students will have completed their first full Year Level exams on Thursday 6 December & Friday 7 December.  These exams provide excellent practice for the senior years.

On the following Monday, December 10, Year 9 students will attend an end-of-year Live Life celebration excursion to Funfields.

Year 8 and 9 students will not be required to attend school on Tuesday 11 December as it is Year 7 Orientation Day. This will allow the Year 9 students to have a day to prepare before heading off to the Summit Camp from Wednesday 12 December to Friday 14 December. At the camp, students will participate in a variety of Outdoor Education activities during the day time and participate in some VCE preparation activities in the evening.
