Presentation Night 2018
Our annual presentation evening was conducted on Thursday 6th December at our new venue, Deakin University. Parents, students and staff were welcomed in the foyer area by our magnificent musicians playing various items. With the Rusden Theatre at near capacity, the student leaders lead the presentation night paying tribute to our wonderful staff, parents and students. This evening was a wonderful chance for us to acknowledge the achievements of the large number of students receiving academic, sporting, music, community service and leadership awards. Congratulations to all of our students for their outstanding achievements across these areas. Our special guest, Anna McLean, Dux of 2017, spoke to our Koonung community about building resilience and having a belief that you can achieve anything if you put your mind to it. Anna presented the Dux awards for 2018.
A special thank-you to all staff who helped organise the event, and the parents who attended and celebrated the achievements of every the student who received an award.

Mark Quinlan
Assistant Principal
Thank you letter to our GVBR team
Annabella & Roland , who undertook the GVBR this year, on one of the training rides prior to the event.
Greetings Principal
Your students, along with teacher Jane, assisted my small mob greatly , re fundraising , on the just completed GVBR by helping to sell raffle tickets for a dot-painted bike helmet & a bike top of Central Australian Aboriginal design.
I have been taking Aboriginal youth down from The Red Centre to do the Great Vic. for many years now. The annual raffle on the ride is an important fundraiser towards the ride, Airfare & ride fee, not to mention several other incidentals, which add up to a fair sum.
On another note I did admire the ‘Reconciliation’ theme on the cycle tops that your Koonung crew wore.
On behalf of my small crew please accept a pulka (big) thankyou. In teacher speak ‘well done Koonung’. Much appreciated!
