In and out of the classroom

What we wear

So wonderful to see these collages of the whole JMSS team celebrating  "What We Wear on Wednesdays" themed dress days. So far we have celebrated a Sports day and a Pink theme!!

Images like these make us all feel a little closer!

Year 12 students completed a simple paper chromatography practical at home using textas, paper towel and a glass of water. Here are some of the results from students Mathias Vaidie and Kesar Singh as well as some teachers.

Lab Update!

Hi everyone.

Hope you are all keeping safe and sound at the moment. It is definitely way too quiet at school when we are there at the moment.

In the labs we have been doing lots of cleaning, reorganising and sorting through all the science resources we have at school. It has been a very rewarding job to do as well because we are realising we have everything and I mean everything!!

The team has also been helping the few teachers that are at school with their pracs. So if any of you are in Dr Cook’s classes he has been doing lots of pracs and demo’s with Miss Nishani. I have also been working on a few projects for Mrs Bohni, Miss Xu and Dr Driscoll for ESV lessons. Also when you finally return to the JMSS campus take note of the display cabinets in the Labs we have been moving them around, adding and changing things in them as well.

I have also been doing a little bit of playing with some DNA and sequences. It has been very interesting. Simular to the last update from the lab but this time it was Eucalyptus trees not bananas.

Just a few reminders for you all when you return next term

  1. Don’t forget your lab coats. You need them for prac classes.
  2. Don’t forget your safety glasses. You need them also for prac classes. We do not have enough spare pairs for everyone. Year 10’s please speak to your mentors when you return to school.
