Parking Concerns
Alexandrina Council Community Safety team has received a high number of complaints from the community in regards to recent parking around School zones, particularly at drop off and pick up times affecting the flow of traffic and the safety of children and pedestrians alike.
Alexandrina Council is making all schools within the Strathalbyn district aware that Council officers have been out over the last few weeks issuing warnings for parking violations around schools involving ‘no parking and timed zones’. The Council wish to advise, as of the beginning of Term 3 all parking breaches will be enforced and expiations for any breach of “The Australian Road Rules” will be issued.
Any other obvious parking breaches such as Stopping on a Yellow Line, Stopping in a Bus Zone or parking on Footpaths or any other parking breach will continue to be expiated without warning.
Please find here a brochure that will help to give you a clear picture of what is expected around school zones.
