Afternoon Dismissal

On Monday our afternoon dismissal procedure will change a little in order to speed up the process.

Parent Pick-up

Parent pick-up will remain unchanged and will continue for the concrete area.

Bicycle Riders and Park Road walkers leaving via the basketball court will now line up on the grass area near the bike racks. Staff will continue to walk these students out on the bell and assist students to cross the road and church driveways.

Hutton Ave walkers will begin using the gate again from Monday. Staff will walk students to the gate and assist any students who need to cross the road.  If it is raining or too wet outside the gate staff will walk students out to Hutton Ave via the Rowan Street gate.

Rowan Street walkers and those walking west on Park Road will now leave via the hall gate. Students will continue to be supervised crossing the road at the intersection of Rowan Street and Park Road. Students who walk on the school side of Rowan Street will use the Hall gate.

All students who walk will be encouraged to walk with their siblings.

The afternoon dismissal will be practiced on Monday so that students know what to do. Parents can help by ensuring their child/ren know how they are to leave the school each afternoon.

Thank you for your support as we work to make the dismissal more efficient.

URGENT - Book Covering Helpers Needed

We have just received hundreds of Decodable Classroom Reader books to assist children in the process of learning to read.  Before they can be used they do need to be covered.  If you are willing to take some books home to cover please contact the office to arrange collection of some of these books and the pre-cut contact.

Student Absences

Whole Days

The school must receive notification by a parent or caregiver of any whole day absence. This can be done via the Compass School Management System on the day of the absence. In the event that notification is not supplied, the absence will be recorded as Unjustified/Unexplained.

Partial Absences

The School Office records partial absences when a child enters school late or leaves school early and parents are not required to enter these via Compass.

Unexplained extended absences from school are serious and the school adheres to the School Attendance Guidelines and St Joseph’s Catholic Primary School Bulli Procedures of the Catholic Education Office, Wollongong.

Kindergarten - Friendly Schools Program

As part of our Friendly Schools Program, children in Kindergarten are learning the value and importance of sharing. Children are taking turns in sharing a very special teddy called, Snugglebug.

All children in Kindergarten will have the opportunity to take Snugglebug home for the night.  Already, Snugglebug has enjoyed so many new adventures like going to the park to play soccer, eating Sushi for dinner and snuggling into bed for a bedtime story. Back at school, the children share their stories about Snugglebug and the wonderful adventures they had together.
