Student Representative Council

This year we are excited to introduce the Student Representative Council (SRC). The SRC’s primary role is to act as a voice and to speak on behalf of the College as a representative. These may include suggested improvements, the support of the whole and part College initiatives and representing the image and interests of the College in the wider community.

All students had the opportunity in Term 1 to nominate to represent their year group. Student representatives from Years 7-12 will join our Year 12 College and House Leaders to form the Student Representative Council. Ms Diane Banks has offered to assist in facilitating the fortnightly meetings. We look forward to sharing feedback and information from the SRC over the coming year.

Peer Support

Last week Year 11 led the second-last Peer Support session for this year. Year 7 have displayed their maturity, enthusiasm, teamwork and cooperation throughout the duration of these sessions. Positive relationships have been formed between group members and their leaders which is evident in the wider school setting. As part of next week’s session, Year 7 and their Leaders will celebrate the success of this program through sharing lunch together.  We look forward to sharing photos after the final session.

Anzac Day

On Monday 25 April we were privileged to have a number of staff and students attend the events on offer to commemorate this ANZAC Day. For many the day began early at the Dawn Service at the Victory Memorial Gardens. Many of us then regathered at the service at the War Cemetery on Kooringal Road where our College Captains, Tahlia Apps and Sam Byrnes lay a wreath on the Cenotaph.

Later on in the morning all of student leaders gathered for the Anzac Day March. House Captains, SRC Representatives and other student representatives were involved in the March down Baylis Street.  Our College Captains, Tahlia and Sam lay a wreath at the Cenotaph in the Victory Memorial Gardens. As a group, many of us continued on to the final commemorative service of the day located in the gardens.

Thank you to all staff and students who participated in the day.
