Students can elect to complete a VET in year 12. Normally VDSS (VET Delivered to Secondary Students) is a two-year course so students can complete a certificate I or II before advancing to a level II or III.
Students can include a VET certificate in their VCE program or complete a VET in the VCE Vocational Major program, formerly known as VCAL, undertaking training in a specific vocational area. VET (VDSS) counts towards a VCE or VCE Vocational Major program in the same way as any VCE and VCE VM subjects.
The Victorian Curriculum and Assessment Authority has developed scored assessment for the majority of VET programs, and students can also include VET programs in their ATAR if undertaking scored assessment.
VET Courses skill students in specific industry areas that directly relate to the requirements of a workplace. Students receive a Nationally Accredited Industry Based Certificate at Level II or III and a Statement of Attainment with all industry units listed.

The booklet lists charges on Page 3 but as is known, Government changes mean that families are not expected to pay for their education - however be aware that material costs and specialised equipment may still have a charge.
