Design (VSD)

Units 3 & 4

Year 12

What is the subject about?

In Unit 3&4 Visual Communication Design, students gain an understanding of the process designers use to structure their thinking and communicate ideas with clients, target audiences and specialists. Students use their research and analysis of visual communications and designers to support the development of their own designs. Students use observational and visualisation drawings to generate a wide range of design ideas and apply design thinking strategies to organise and evaluate their ideas. They use a range of digital and manual methods, media, and materials. They investigate how design elements and design principles create different communication messages and convey ideas to a target audience.
