IMPORTANT! PLEASE READ: TRAFFIC IN SCHOOL ZONES SURVEY

As we are all very aware, traffic and parking around our school is very frustrating and, at times, dangerous. The Shire Council is undertaking a survey to find out more about the issues. PLEASE take this opportunity to contribute to this survey by reading the information below and completing the survey via the attached link.

Background / Summary:

There are a number of schools in the residential areas of Castlemaine, which draw a significant number of students from the town and surrounding districts. The volume of traffic, including cyclists and pedestrians, increases during school pick up and drop off. 

An analysis of existing traffic conditions will provide the documentation required to plan for essential safety infrastructure. As part of this, Council is currently undertaking traffic studies to identify and assess parking and traffic safety improvements at three primary schools in Mount Alexander Shire:

• Castlemaine Primary School
• Castlemaine North Primary School
• Winters Flat Primary School
