Girls SAPSASA Netball Competition

On Wednesday  the 1st of June, the selected team of Year 5/6 girls attended round one of the knockout netball competition held at Stradbroke Primary School. Throughout the day the girls played three games against East Marden Primary, Stradbroke Primary and Trinity Gardens Primary. 

 

The day presented a high level of skills and team spirit shown by all teams, making for a competitive day of play. The results for the day were as followed:

 

Game 1

Magill (17) defeated East Marden (12)

 

Game 2

Magill (26) defeated Stradbroke (13)

 

Game 3

Trinity Gardens (29) defeated Magill (7)

 

With two wins and one loss, unfortunately Magill finished the round in second place and were knocked out of the competition, with Trinity Gardens moving to round 2 as the winners of the day. 

 

Excellent effort and enthusiasm were shown throughout the day. Some fantastic defending shown by Sabine S, Selina F and Vindula W. Quick speed and run through mid court presented by Aislynn L, Ava K, Izzie A and Isabella R and some precise shooting from Charlotte S and Kate M. It was an absolute pleasure coaching the girls and witnessing their commitment to training and working as a team. Not the result we were hoping for, but the girls should be proud of themselves and the effort shown in the lead up and on the day.

Boy's SAPSASA Netball Competition

On Friday the 3rd June, the selected team of Year 5/6 boys attended a knockout netball competition held at Morialta Uniting Church. Throughout the day the boys played two games against Norwood Primary and Northfield Primary.

 

The day presented an excellent learning opportunity for the boys as they developed and understanding and awareness for the game and the rules. The results for the day were as followed:

 

Game 1

Norwoods (13) defeated Magill (8)

 

Game 2

Magill (19) defeated Northfield  (8)

 

With one win and one loss, unfortunately Magill were knocked out of the competition, with Norwood Primary moving to round 2 as the winners of the day. 

 

Excellent effort and enthusiasm were shown throughout the day. Some great effort in defense shown by Chanuga H, Jonathan L and Levi O. Quick speed and run through mid court presented by Jake T, Jonathon L, Theodore T and Cooper M and some persistent shooting efforts from Ekham S, Aydan D and Diesel H. It was an absolute pleasure coaching the boys and seeing their interest in the game and skills develop over the past few weeks.
