F13 Sustainable Living

Our Year 6 class embarked on a World Issue Inquiry Project about sustainable living. We looked at different natural disasters and investigated how well houses survived and what different structures needed to be built to withstand certain elements. We then had to brainstorm current issues in housing around the world and research sustainable living solutions; a lifestyle using as few of Earth’s natural resources as possible, to create the least amount of environmental damage for future generations. We also discovered that people living a sustainable lifestyle try to reduce their carbon footprint by changing the way they use transport, energy and fuel their bodies. Our next task was to design, create and build our sustainable residence in the form of a 3D Model!  These are a few of our models  which we then both peer and teacher assessed.
