SRC Fundraiser
The SRC is organising a fundraising day to support the Red Cross Australian bushfire appeal and Adelaide Koala Rescue.
Students are encouraged to dress up in theme (emergency services, firefighters, native animals etc) and bring a gold coin donation.
The fundraiser will occur on Wednesday 1st April.
Student Information Sheets
Each year it is necessary to renew school records. This information is required so that immediate contact can be made in case of emergencies and so that school routine arrangements may be organised. Please assist us by reviewing the information the school has on file and return it with any adjustments necessary. If there are no changes to be made, please disregard the form that has gone home.
Privacy Notice
The personal information provided to school is being obtained for the purpose of updating the school's records. While the provision of this information is voluntary, if you do not provide all of any of this information it may delay or prevent contact in case of an emergency. This information is stored securely. You may access or correct any personal information provided by contacting the school.
Family Law Matters
If your child is the subject of a custody order, access order or any other form of family court or apprehended violence matter, information needs to be made available to the school. Any changes in circumstances must be notified to the school immediately. We can only act in accordance with the orders that we have on file.
Medical
If your child suffers from any medical condition or required regular medication for a specific illness or condition, this must be indicated. If medication is required to be administered during school hours, please contact the administration office to organise the appropriate forms.
If your child has received a medical form for a condition known by the school, please have this plan completed by a doctor and return it to school as soon as possible. If you require a new copy of any of the forms provided, please contact the office.
Library News
Borrowing
Please ensure that your child has a library bag for borrowing and returning books to the library. The bag provides protection to the book against damp and leaking water bottles. If you don't have a cloth bag then just bring a plastic shopping bag to carry your book in and protect it.
Overdue books
If you have found any library books while cleaning up over the holidays please send them back to the library. If your child has an overdue book, unfortunately, they won’t be able to borrow until either the book has been returned or paid for. Overdue notices will continue to be sent home this week.
If you receive an overdue note anytime throughout the year and you think that the book has been returned then please either write a note or call into the library. Sometimes the books don’t scan properly and the computer thinks the books are still on loan when they are actually back on the shelf. If in doubt please come and check.
Book Club
Order forms for the Scholastic Book Club are currently being distributed to the students during their library lessons. Scholastic provide a wide range of books suitable for all ages. For each book purchased the school earns points. The school is then able to use the points to select a number of books free of charge that then go into our library.
There are several payment options. You may pay by cash or cheque (made out to Scholastic Australia). The students need to return any order forms with the cash or cheque in an envelope marked with their name and class. They should be returned to either Mrs O’Mally or Mrs Heinicke in the library.
You can also pay by credit card online by going to www.scholastic.com.au/LOOP. If you pay by LOOP you DO NOT need to return any paper work to school. The school will be notified that you have placed and paid for an order. Your order will be returned with the other orders that have been placed by the school.
If you wish to purchase something for a special occasion like a birthday and don’t want your child to know about it then just mark that on your order form or let Mrs O’Mally know. When the orders come back we can keep your items in the office until you are ready to pick them up.
Order forms for Issue 2 are due back on Tuesday, 24th March.
Stewart House Donation Drive 2020
For almost 90 years, Stewart House has supported children from across NSW and the ACT public schools who are going through tough times and are in need of a break. In more recent times, this has included many children from families who have been adversely affected by prolonged drought and economic hardship.
Children attend Stewart House free of charge and they rely almost entirely on charitable donations to run their 12-day program, designed to develop children's physical, social and emotional well-being.
School fundraising has always provided much needed revenue for us. Please follow the below steps for your chance to win a $4000 holiday to a destination of your choice!
Step 1: Take home the provided envelope and fill in your name, address, telephone number and school
Step 2: Insert a donation of at least $2 into the envelope and seal it
Step 3: Return the envelope to your school office
All entries must be returned by Friday 3rd April 2020.
P&C Meeting
