Careers Update

Work Experience

Work experience for Semester 1 will commence in April. A letter went out on Compass to all Year 10 families outlining the requirements for students to attend work experience, and the industries in which students are allowed to work. If any families can support our work experience program by offering a student a placement, please telephone the College or email casey.howell@education.vic.gov.au 

VET

Students are commencing their TAFE / VET programs over the coming two weeks. Many commenced last week. If families require use of the VET bus to get their child to VET, there is a cost of $150 for the year that needs to be paid to the front office. The bus travels between EMC, Chisholm (Frankston) and local schools that run programs each Wednesday. Most VET courses are now full. We still have a few spaces available in EMC programs, such as - VET Agriculture, CISCO Networking Academy, VET Remote Pilot Accreditation (Drones), Health Services Assistance, and Early Childhood Education & Care. 

Structured Workplace Learning for VCAL students. Students must have forms back by the end of February.

Monash Mentoring Induction Day

Year 11 and 12 students who were successful in gaining a mentor through the Access Monash program will have their Monash Mentee Induction Day on February 24th at Monash Peninsula Campus. This is for students who are new to the program. Returning students in Year 12 do not need to attend. Details have been sent to attendees via Compass. 

Students will make their own way to meet Ms Knight and Ms Dafter at the Peninsula Campus by 9:00am. 

The event will finish at 2:00pm. 

As EMC is part of the Access Monash program, we encourage senior students to be involved as mentees, at revision sessions for exams, and other events throughout the year.
