Senior  School

Dear students and parents/carers,

Our year 10, 11, and 12 students have had a wonderful return to school this year and should be very proud of themselves. When we are walking around during lessons we see every class with students focussed on their learning and interacting meaningfully with their teachers and peers. Students can always articulate what they are learning each lesson, and what they need to achieve that lesson.

Our year 11s have already had an assembly where the key reminders and THRIVE behavioural expectations were covered, as well as celebrations of students who have already achieved THRIVE points this term. They always have a big smile when they see their name up on the screen. Year 10s will have an assembly later this week.

Year 12s have just returned from their Lord Somers Camp, which was a brilliant opportunity to get out of their comfort zone and try some things they would never have believed they could do. We had water activities, yoga, pizza making, initiative games, bush walks and beach walks, including some groups who watched a pod of dolphins playing along next to us. You would be surprised how excited and competitive our big kids can get at Trivia Night, especially at the last Lip Sync battle. There was even a special performance from Mr Ferra, Mr Frost, and Mr Howard that brought the house down. A huge thanks to the camp staff, our Senior School staff, and the students for all contributing to another perfect Senior School event. It was a big treat for the cohort to prime them ready for a big final year of secondary school.

Later on in the year we look forward to resuming our usual Senior School events like Year 10 Formal, Year 11 Winter Ball,  and THRIVE days, all of which we engage students in for the planning and running of.

If you are interested see your Sub School Leader and let them know.
