Principal Introduction

Dear Students, Parents and Carers,

This week our Year 12 students have been on the annual year 12 camp to Lord Somers Camp. This is a wonderful opportunity for staff to connect and build the strong relationships that will ensure that the learning and social needs of each student are met during the challenges of 2021.

It is important to recognise that success at Year 12 requires hard work, commitment and sacrifice. Our students require the best teaching and support that can be offered at the College and at home. Having a dedicated study area at home is essential and siblings need to support their brother or sister in performing at their very best each and every day.

We recommend that parents work with their child to develop a study plan that takes into account the academic needs of the students pathway and aspirations. Balancing the part time work, sport and social commitments can at times be challenging, and I encourage all students to make their learning the number one priority. Getting the best results that you can at year 12 will require some sacrifices over the next 10 months. I wish every year 12 student the best of luck with their studies and hope that they make every effort to be successful in 2021.

On Thursday we welcome Penny Fowler, Penny is grand daughter to Dame Elisabeth Murdoch, among the many roles that she plays in the community - she is the chair person of the Royal Children's Hospital Good Friday Appeal. She will be attending the College to assist us to commemorate Dame Elisabeth's contribution to the Langwarrin Community and the College. She will present our College Captains with their blazers and awards to recipients of the Dame Elisabeth Murdoch award and Live your values award.

This event is a wonderful opportunity each year where we come together as an entire College, celebrating our growth and learning over the past 12 months. Celebrating the values important to our College of kindness, humility, generosity and community.

Warm regards,

Dean King

Principal.
