First Year of the Kitchen and Garden Programme

Kitchen and Garden Programme has been great fun. I was not here for all the activities but what I have done is really great.

The broad bean plant that I started to grow at home is growing super-fast before me and my family’s eyes. We put some of our broad beans in our dinner. I was surprised about how good was with our meal. I got about nine broad beans off my plant. I thought it was crazy that nine could be on a plant with out falling off.

The Food Cards activities were amazing to try, there were all different activities, for example, I found that the A-Z of fruit and vegetables quite interesting and fun. This involved thinking as well finding out different fruits and vegetables that you might not have heard of before.

The Jack-o-Lanterns were fun too. We got a little bit messy and had fun painting to finish off them off. I finished off Charlotte’s Jack o Lantern. This is an example of the team-work that is shown in Kitchen Garden Programme.

What I found fun during Remote Learning was to have little breaks and playing eye spy. It was fun to see what other people came up with and their cool ideas for what the letter was.

I liked using Microsoft Teams to communicate and get up to date with what work we are doing.

Overall, it has been a weird but great year of the Kitchen Garden Programme. I am looking forward to the future.
