Pathway To Success

There are many pathways for students. At HPSC we recognise that success can occur in many different ways. All students are unique and individual. At our College, we recognise that ‘one size does not fit all’, and students are encouraged to find and follow their own passion to achieve success. We are very proud of all our students.
Caden Elder-Ledbury
Caden Elder-Ledbury has been an outstanding student completing his Year 12 Certificate in the Victorian Certificate of Applied Learning (VCAL). As the VCAL Student Leader he has focused on studying Literacy, Numeracy, Work Related Skills and Personal Development Skills during which he has demonstrated excellent leadership qualities in supporting individuals and teams in a variety of community-based projects. At the end of this year Caden will also have accreditation in a Cert II in Outdoor Recreation and Cert III in Building and Construction. Caden selected a VCAL pathway as he is a hands-on learner and was seeking experience in the building industry knowing this was what he wanted to do after participating in work experience in Year 10. Caden completed his Year 12 studies in the Headstart Program, which gave him the opportunity to earn money while continuing his studies. Caden is aspirational; aiming to own his own business in the not too distant future. He has already secured an apprenticeship beginning later in the year.
Kezza Marie Mascarte
Kezza Marie Mascarte planned out her career pathway several years ago. Kezza Marie has long wanted to pursue a career within the medical industry, either in Nursing or Biomedicine to attain her end goal as a Geriatrician. Kezza Marie demonstrated outstanding commitment to her learning, engaging in accelerated studies in Year 10 which enabled her to successfully complete her first VCE Unit 3 and 4 subject (Health and Human Development) while a Year 11 student. As part of her VCE studies this year, Kezza Marie has studied English, Psychology, Biology and Further Maths as well as completing two additional units of a Higher Education Study at Deakin University in Health Practices.
Tayla Hamilton
Tayla Hamilton had long pursued a career in Real Estate and Business and was the ideal candidate to be a successful Headstart student, balancing her studies in the Victorian Certificate of Applied Learning (VCAL) with a traineeship. The traineeship enabled Tayla to continue her studies while participating in further Vocational Education and Training (VET) in a Cert III in Business and working two days per week with Aurora Estate Agents. As a result of her experiences in her traineeship and particularly her studies in VCAL Skills for Further Study, Tayla has now reconsidered her career pathway and is determined pursue her studies to become a Primary School teacher. She has applied for Diploma courses in 2021 to help her to fulfill this goal. Tayla believes that the VCAL program provides students with a fantastic opportunity to discover what career really inspires you to work hard and achieve your dreams.
Seema Hassani
Seema Hassani used her early years at secondary school to give everything a go and learn what she enjoyed doing. Seema enthusiastically engaged in activities including being a Science mentor for primary school students, EAL Student Leader whilst also being employed at the Casey Cardinia library. Throughout her schooling Seema has been extremely dedicated and focussed on working toward a career in the Medical field, with a strong ambition and determination to become a neurosurgeon. This year Seema successfully completed her VCE studies in EAL, Chemistry, Biology, Health and Human Development, Further Maths and Dari. Seema is passionate about giving back to the community and particularly assisting vulnerable and disadvantaged families in developing countries. She has plans to start a non-profit volunteering program in 2021 to assist disadvantaged children in a refugee camp in Indonesia, providing them with the opportunity to access education and essential resources. Who knows Seema might be CEO of UNICEF!
Rahmatullah Hussaini
If asked to describe Rahmatullah Hussaini’s approach to his VCE studies this year it would be tenacious, persistent and determined. Rahmatullah will achieve his career pathway in Business and Law and is prepared to undertake many years of further study to not only build his own skills and knowledge in these fields but also to contribute positively in supporting members of our community. Rahmatullah was one of a handful of students selected to speak at the Casey Ted Talk series, which unfortunately was cancelled this year. This was a shame because he has much knowledge and wisdom to share for someone so young. Rahmatullah continually shares his positive outlook in looking at challenges as being opportunities for personal growth and change. As an example, this year while juggling his studies he also decided to become an Australian citizen. Rahmatullah balances his studies with exercise and sport, as a talented Soccer player, participating in many leadership programs with Melbourne Victory.
Tamara Agar
Tamara Agar approached her VCE studies at Hampton Park Secondary College with passion, positivity and an outstanding work ethic. She selected a broad range of subjects including English, Health and Human Development, Food Studies, Business Management and Further Mathematics. Tamara selected a VCE pathway because she felt that VCE gave her the freedom to select subjects that interested her so that she could discover what she really liked doing. While Tamara hasn’t quite made her mind up about a career pathway, she is considering further study to be qualified as a Veterinary Nurse, a pastry Chef or a Food Technology teacher.
Jonathan Pang
Jonathan Pang is aiming to gain early entry into the Bachelor of Aviation Management at Swinburne University of Technology, or ideally, be accepted into the trainee program with Air Services Australia to study a Diploma of Aviation (Air Traffic Control). For many years Jonathan has been fascinated and intrigued by the coordination, cooperation, professionalism and teamwork needed to ensure that an aircraft safely reaches its destination. Jonathan selected a VCE pathway studying English, Health and Human Development, Business Management, Accounting and Math Methods. Over the two years he has applied his outstanding organisational and time management skills to successfully balance his studies with part time work, whilst also ensuring that he has his personal time to relax and minimise stress.
