PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE

TERM 2 REFLECTION AND HARMONIOUS HOLIDAYS

Congratulations to everyone on the end of a successful term. Term 2 provided St Joseph’s College with several opportunities to share our Catholic values and demonstrate God’s love within the community.

St Joseph’s students represented the College with integrity and poise when they took part in three solemn ANZAC Day  commemorative events: the Dawn Service, the Nichols Point War Graves Service and the Henderson Park Memorial Service.

The third annual Mother’s Day Breakfast hosted by our Certificate II in Hospitality students, was a very popular event. Guest speakers Rebecca Olsen, Western Region Police Superintendent and Louise James, McGrath Breast Care Nurse, delivered messages of empowerment for women of all ages and walks of life.

On May 25, St Joseph’s College hosted a mass at Mercy Campus for students, staff, families and friends of local Catholic primary schools, St Paul’s, Sacred Heart, St Joseph’s and Our Lady of the Sacred Heart. This annual event is a part of Catholic Education Week when we celebrate the common vision and mission of Catholic educational communities.

Finally, heartfelt congratulations to all Catherine McAuley Virtue Conquers Award winners. You honour the College with all your efforts in academic excellence, community service, creative endeavours and leadership in sport, both in College activities and extracurricular pursuits. Thank you.

As Term 2 concludes, we can look forward to a time of rest. I humbly suggest that we use this time to do things that help us find harmony in mind, body and spirit so that we can embrace Term 3 with positivity and renewed vigour.

God Bless,

Mrs Marg Blythman
