Calrossy Sport

Summer sport to commence in Term 4

Term 4 will see Summer sports commence with Water Polo for girls and Cricket for boys and girls, as well as Oz Tag and Basketball.

Mark will be on long service from Week 4 and so to ensure that these sports continue to run they will require some assistance from staff if possible.

Water Polo has been overseen by Gail Salter for a number of years but as of Term 4, Gail is no longer available.

Water Polo is played Monday evenings and requires someone to be with the team(s), knowledge of Water polo is an advantage but not essential. Training has been on a Wednesday afternoon if required.

Boys Cricket is on Saturday mornings and Monday afternoon/evening.  Saturday (7/8 team) morning is usually covered by parents. Monday afternoon (9/10) is usually covered by a member of staff.  Training is at times organised by the coaches of individual teams.

Girls Cricket is Tuesday afternoons, from 5 till 7. Each team requires an adult who can score or umpire at square leg. Training is minimal. Some coaches enlist the assistance of a senior student(s) to umpire and score. If you are keen and female you can play with your team.

Oz Tag is played Thursday afternoons from 4 till 6, no coaching just supervision.

If you can spare some time in an already busy schedule to assist, that would be greatly appreciated by the students playing the sports.

Teams/draws, equipment etc. will be organised by the Sports Department.

If you can help, please come and see us.

Rugby Grand Finals

Calrossy Under 14's

Calrossy Under 14 regional team were up against a strong Narrabri team in the Grand final. Calrossy won the toss and ran with the strong wind in the first half. An early penalty goal put us ahead 3-0. After good lead-up work Will Doyle scored a determined try close to the line to put us 10-0 ahead. Narrabri scored a try just before half time to make it 10-5 lead to Calrossy.

In the second half Narrabri dominated possession and territory with the wind and had some big, strong players. They found some space and scored some tries to get a lead of 32-10 which, against the wind was always going to be hard to chase down. Ryan Witherdin scored a deserved try at the end of the game to make it 32-15. It was a great effort but Calrossy just fell short in the final. The boys had a great season.
