Division Swimming

On Thursday 12th March six students represented our school in the Division Swimming Carnival at Werribee Pool. There were a large number of schools who participated on the day and I am extremely proud of our students for progressing this far, but most importantly for trying their best on the day.  Thank you to their parents for making the time to take them to the carnival and for supporting their child on the day.

Here is what each student had to say about their experience:

KY (3/4R) When I went to the swimming carnival divisions I felt nervous, excited and scared. I thought I wouldn't do well. After my race I realised I came 4th! I was 1 place away from getting into regionals! All I know is that I did my best and that's all that matters.

IAN (3/4S) - The swimming carnival was challenging and I got to look at other students, so I can do better next time. I think that it doesn’t matter who comes first or last, they should just try their best. I would never have thought I would make it to Division Swimming. I would like to thank my friends for cheering me on. As long as I try my best, I will always achieve a goal.

OWEN (3/4ST) - At last it was my turn, I hopped on the diving board and when I heard the bell I jumped in. At first, it was cold and I was strong coming in 3rd place. In the last 25 metres, I started slowing down and came 4th.

CYB (5/6E) - The swimming carnival was really fun, nobody complained and no one was bragging. All the people who were at the swimming carnival cooperated, everyone had great sportsmanship and people were happy. The weather was perfect for the day, it was warm and sunny. So overall, the swimming carnival, again, was great. The day went smoothly, and I would be more than happy to do it again, even though it was very tiring, it was fantastic.

MEBA (5/6E) - Hello I’m Meba. During my time at the Division Swimming, I felt scared and at the same time, I felt glad that I had made it to where I was. Once it was time to race, I was so weirded out when I found out I had to race Ian, by the way I was in breaststroke.

JONI (5/6L)Hi I’m Joni, I am one of the six students that went and gave it their best at Division Swimming. It was actually sunny for once, and the adrenaline was building up as time went by. My event was one of the last ones of the day so we had to wait, but it went by quickly.
