Principal's Message

It’s nearly the end of term. We have worked so hard as a staff to get to know your students and for students to know us. We have been so excited to see where the year will take us, learning together, feeling safe and having fun.

As you walk through classrooms there is a sense of focused calm learning. Together we have built a learning community based on doing our best and a little bit more as members of St Martins.

But no matter how planned and prepared we have been for the year, no-one ever told us to prepare for this moment.

It is an unprecedented, uncertain, and sometimes a scary time.

It’s normally about this time of term when we start planning for term 2. We are organising excursions and confirming sports days and camps.

Only this isn’t happening. Instead, staff are thinking about how we can keep our students healthy and less stressed while delivering the best education we can. Staff have organised for "home learning opportunities" in case we are told to close.

Life is a journey and takes on different paths. Together, we will get through this difficult time.

My goals for the past two weeks have been very clear:

To keep our students happy and safe while loving their learning.

To keep you informed so that you are updated with the latest information.

This is the last newsletter for the term but highly unlikely the last time you will hear from me.

Well done to our preps for surviving their first term. I think their parents will always remember their child's first year in prep for years to come.

Warm Regards,

Dan Ryan

Principal
