Lang House Report

True to most people’s experience, the members of the Lang House Team, comprising of Mr Geros, Ms McDonald and Mr Bradbury, have been hard at work navigating a course through the many tricky challenges posed by COVID19. During lockdown, this has involved making many phone calls to check in with you - the parents, carers and students - to offer support and to address your questions and concerns. It’s been great to note the warm welcome we have received upon making these calls, and we continue to seek your support during this difficult time. So, please, stay in contact with us and continue, if we’re still in lockdown at time of publication, to engage with our Remote Learning Program. Hopefully, we won’t experience too many more lockdowns in the near future.

In other news, Mr Veale has taken leave over term three so we’ve had the pleasure of inviting Assistant Principal, Mr Tim Davey, into the Lang House fold. He brings a wealth of experience from his work with outside agencies, and we look forward to working with him on the many initiatives undertaken over this term - particularly in regards to student pathways and Year 10 Course Counselling.

As for you, the students and families of Lang House, it never ceases to amaze me how resilient and positive you are! We’ve had many Lang House students register for The Premiers Reading Challenge, and the many Success Tickets we’ve received in the Lang House Office are testimony to how engaged and hard-working our students are. It’s also reassuring to note the many entries we received for the House Mascot Competition - we’ll look forward to announcing the winning entry in due course.

In the meantime, stay safe and contact the college if you require any assistance at all – we’re here to help!

Barak House

Well what a start to the term it has been. We started off strong with all students excited to be back. And now within the week I find myself typing this from my front loungeroom of my house waiting for the delivery of a heater.

But I am certain that this will not last long and the resilience that we have built over our journey from our infancy in 2018 to now will get us through. We will keep working hard and we will keep succeeding, and we will continue to have our spirit shine through allowing us to develop into successful and happy members of society.

Can’t wait to be back!!!!!!

Pyke House Report

The Pyke house team has seen some significant changes for Term 3 as Head of House. Mr. Mann has joined the Principal team replacing Mr. Veale who is on leave for the term. This means that Mr. Cristino has stepped up in an Acting Head of House position as well as Mr. Baker joining the team as the new Year 7 & 8 Co-ordinator for the term.

To date, our Pyke house students have earned themselves over 400 Success Tickets for the year which is an outstanding effort for our students and rewards are being handed out to these at our fortnightly house assemblies.

We have a significant amount of students participate in activities across the school, ranging from interschool sport, the premiers' reading challenge and of course our house mascot challenge. The winning mascot will be revealed in the near future and we’re excited to show it off!
