Ringwood Primary School Centenary
This year is the Centenary of the founding of Ringwood Primary School in Greenwood Avenue.
The Ringwood & District Historical Society is planning a celebration of this on 6 November 2021, at Maroondah Federation Estate which has been formed from the original school buildings.
Further details are to follow, but one thing they would like to do is recognise former students who have made a significant contribution to society.
As many of the students attended the Ringwood Secondary College and the previous Ringwood High School, you may wish to contact the current treasurer Peter Fry to request further information or provide your details. pjfxxxx8@gmail.com

A message for parents of students currently in Years 10 and 11 at RSC.
This committee introduced a scholarship to help parents who may find it difficult for their child to complete their VCE studies at RSC. Students who have done well in previous years would benefit from completing Years 11 and 12 schooling, which could offer more options in the future.
This RSC Perpetual Scholarship Fund offers the opportunity for parents of those students to apply for a scholarship, valued at $500, where this would assist with offsetting some of the costs of fees, elective subjects or additional materials for their student’s chosen VCE courses at RSC.
As there are two scholarships offered each year, interviews are arranged with each parent and student, following the application form being received at this college by the due date. The two successful applicants, commencing VCE in either Year 11 or Year 12 in 2022, will receive their awards before the end of this school year. Interviews may be held at the college or on-line, depending of the prevailing COVID-19 circumstances at that time.
Applications will close on Friday 15th October (Term 4, Week 2*), so if you feel you may benefit from this scholarship assistance, you can get your application form from RSC by calling the college during office hours on 9870 2002.
*Please note that this date may change in the event of sudden changes to the prevailing Government rules to protect us against unforeseen COVID-19 outbreaks. Let us all hope that does not occur.

Alumni “visit”
With many roadblocks preventing alumni from visiting colleges, Ringwood Secondary College were fortunate enough for Lisa (2006) to video call the 2021 VCAL students on Monday 21st of June. Lisa has been working in Industrial relations and employment law since 2012 and has a passion for helping and supporting people in need. Lisa began her career studying Arts and most recently completed a Juris Doctor (Master of Laws) at Monash University. As the current VCAL students learnt, this is not a career that she initially expected to fall in love with, however has no regrets and strives to continuously develop on her professional knowledge and skills.
Although technical difficulties were inevitable, Lisa was a truly passionate presenter and powered through with insights on her career pathway, her professional growth and was even able to provide insights to the students around job applications and professional resumes.
Ringwood Secondary College would like to thank Lisa for being such a supportive and passionate alumnus, giving the current students insight into the current work force and what supports they have as they begin their career journeys.
If you are a past Ringwood Secondary College student and would like to be involved with the alumni program like Lisa, please contact the alumni coordinator via email - alumni@ringwoodsc.vic.edu.au or following the links in the QR code.
