Drama Club

Drama Club is available for all Year 7 and 8 students and has been running since the beginning of 2019.

It is not a program for performance or performance making but designed with non-performers in mind and is for the improvement of communication, confidence, cooperation and imagination.

A group of current Year 9 students who were regular attendees of  Drama Club since its inception have become very important student leaders. They are now helping to run the group by leading the new Year 7 and 8 students in various games and activities.

The group runs every Thursday at lunchtime and includes  group building activities, improvisational activities, some script interpretation, explores movement through different music styles and most importantly focuses on having fun in a relaxed and inclusive environment.

In the bigger picture, attending the  Drama Club may create greater engagement to school which can equal greater happiness. Drama also gives us the ability and scope to teach empathy which in these uncertain times is so important.

As we have moved to Remote Learning in Term 2  - so has the Drama Club. We have been meeting over our laptops experimenting with different games and activities but still managing to enjoy ourselves.

All are welcome to join us. Please feel free to email me at ruth.myers@kilbreda.vic.edu.au if you would like to be included. Or,  once we return to the College,  come to the Meeting Room the very first Thursday that we we get back for a very much anticipated in-real-life meeting.
