Earn and Learn 

Dear Carlton North Community,

The Year 5/6 Inquiry unit for this term is Earn and Learn, which links a number of curriculum areas such as economics, business, maths, literacy and design. In small groups, students have been tasked with creating and collaboratively operating a business venture. Each group has a small budget, and aims to turn a profit which will be donated to a charity of their choice. 

Our Market Day will be held for students only (no parents or additional community members unfortunately) on Wednesday 23rd June. Prices range from $1 - $8. You will see some of the student’s advertisements around the school and in the Newsletter. 

We are suggesting that students bring a container to school so that they can carry their items home safely. Students are able to purchase more than one item - which means they could buy a craft item AND a delicious treat! 

Thank you for supporting our Year 5/6 students. They have been working so hard and have had to sacrifice their additional market day due to the lockdown.
