Principal's Report

Welcome back to the final term for 2019, I hope you enjoyed time with your young people during the respite from bells and routine! Our Year 12 students and teachers have worked diligently throughout the break with classes and lectures to supplement the run up to Celebration Day on 21 October. The majority of VCE students begin their exams with English on Wednesday 30 October. We wish our students every success in these anxious but exciting last weeks.

This is a busy time of year as we progress our planning for 2020 from strategic, leadership and organisational perspectives.

The key aspects of 2020 planning we are currently undertaking centre on key research into leading learning and teaching, in particular the following:

  • A focus on students as both learners and people, this is the purpose for our academic, student agency and Visible Wellbeing Programs.
  • Quality teaching with models and framework to support shared understandings in every class every day.
  • A Curriculum Review to ensure best practice in the Victorian and VCE curriculum for our students and context.
  • Professional Learning which is aligned closely with highly effective classroom practice, analysis, action research and coaching.
  • Leadership - students, parents, community, all staff, as well as the formal leadership profile

The foci above each involve complex collaboration processes which will be at the centre of our work together throughout the year. We look forward to the new challenges and solutions 2020 will bring.

Kind regards,

Karen
