10M3

Helped the wellbeing of our fellow students by organizing to have two dogs come to the school and visit students in classes, this can be seen to help students with anxiety or other issues and can make the school environment feel more welcoming and calmer. We also wanted to help raise awareness for dog adoption and promote adopting over purchasing from breeders, while educating people on the adoption process.

10R1

On Thursday the 7th November 10R1 as a class visited Abbotsford’s Lentil as Anything restaurant. We chose to make this visit, where we contributed over $300 for the support of the restaurant, as we highly valued the business’ values and ways of operating. All of the meals they provide for customers have a ‘pay as you feel’ policy, where customers pay what they can for various healthy and vegan meals. This way of functioning means that customers of all economic backgrounds can enjoy a meal, unlike other spaces which may be more exclusive. Where possible, all of their food is also sourced from vegetables grown in their own veggie gardens, or ‘rescued’ foods that is perfectly edible, but is at risk of being wasted by markets, super markets and restaurants. This aids in making the Lentil as Anything restaurants, of which there are four in Australia, operate sustainably.

10R2

Participated in a “walkathon” in the heat to raise over $160 and awareness for the Clean Ocean Foundation.

And the winners are…

10L2!!!
