Alpine School Update

The Year 9 Alpine students are settling in very nicely at Glenormiston in Victoria’s Western district. They have been very physically and intellectually active. Here’s a bite of what they have been up to.
They have been doing a lot of team activities, working on their expo skills, hiking, cooking skills and making group decisions.
On Thursday 22 October they had Bridge Building. The team didn’t quite build the bridge that they were imagining (see the picture attached) but ended the day with many things to think about and improve on. They also had a great de-brief discussion which helped them to realise the importance of learning from experiences rather than dismissing them as a ‘failure’.
The week of Monday 19/10 they also completed their Safe Food Handling Course, learnt how to do CPR, worked on their Community Learning Project and managed to squeeze in a rest day yesterday. They also set their individual learning goals. Enjoy some of the pictures below.
