From the Principal Class Team

Dear Parents & Guardians
Final exams are well underway, with our Year 11 students and most Year 12’s having finished theirs by now. On behalf of all the staff and the exam supervisors, I would like to thank you for all the support you have given your children as they prepared for their exams. It is a stressful time, particularly for VCE students, and we appreciate everything you do to support them and the school.
Once again, the exam supervisors commented on the excellent behaviour and positive attitude of the VCE group.
School Captains 2016
We are really pleased to announce the appointment of our School Captains & Vice Captains for 2016.
Following a nomination and student election process, Christopher Mabiala & Caroline Vo were elected as the Captains, and Warkaw Admassu & Annie Pham as Vice Captains.
Each of these students has already made a significant contribution to the school through their leadership, participation in extra curricular programs, and as role models for their peers.
They will be excellent advocates for their fellow students and ambassadors for the school, and we look forward to working with them over the next twelve months.
Congratulations, Christopher, Caroline, Warkaw and Annie!
Special thanks to our Junior SRC members who acted as electoral officers and scrutineers during the voting process.

Schoolies Celebrations - advice from the Department of Education
The end of Year 12 is a time of celebration for students (and parents, quite often!) And whilst it is well deserved that this milestone in their lives is acknowledged and celebrated, it is also important that it is done safely and respectfully.
The Department of Education has provided advice to parents & students to support this. We have emailed this advice to all Year 12's and made it available for parents on the portal and our website.
If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact the Senior School Coordinators or Ms Losh Pillay, Assistant Principal.
Congratulations to Tania De Silva
Recently one of our staff, Ms Tania De SIlva, together with her partner, Gene, and their teams, over the weekend attended the 3rd Annual Australian Rueda de Casino Festival and Championships in Sydney. It’s a weekend that not only features a world class Rueda de Casino championship competition series, it also includes an Open Cuban Dance competition for any Cuban style of dance. Both these competitions are open to Cuban dancers in Australasia, with dancers from Australia, New Zealand and New Caledonia competing this year.
Across the weekend, Tania & Gene won the following awards:
- Australian Rueda de Casino Championship - Professional Team 2nd Place
- Cuban Open Competition - 1st Place
- Special Recognition of Great Support to Cuban Dance & Culture awarded to their Dance School, RakaTa.
Congratulations to Tania, Gene & all at RakaTa.
