William Angliss Experience

William Angliss Experience

On Monday, the 16th of October 2017, a group of students from the year 10 Food Studies class went on an excursion to William Angliss Institute where we all got to experience how their courses run around the campus. We all went on a little tour and we saw where they run an Air Hostess course where they had equipment from an aeroplane, which the students work with. They explained that the offer of a Hotel Management course which students can do. We saw the training rooms, which are set up as different hotel rooms from around the world.

We all also got to see where all their different types of kitchens were and we were told about the courses they offer. There was a chocolate kitchen where they made all different types of things using the chocolate such as chocolate bunnies and chocolate houses, which they had on display for us all to see. They also had a kitchen where they made desserts, ice-cream and decorated cakes. Then we got to see the kitchen where the chefs were preparing and making our food for the day after our little tour around the campus. We then headed to the actual a la carte restaurant where we were seated around a big table and the waitresses assisted us . They placed a napkin over our laps, then served the food and drink from the menu which we had chosen. We got to choose an entrée, main dish and dessert. We had ingredients and food which most of us had not eaten before.

Overall, the food was amazing and was plated and presented in a very professional standard. It was a very good day and a great experience for all of us.
