Principal's Report

Farewell class of 2017
It is that time of year again when our year 12 VCE students complete formal classes and begin their final weeks of study for the all-important end of year VCE exams.
We enjoyed the traditional Year 12 Assembly, where the students were dressed in an assortment of weird and wacky costumes. This was followed by a morning tea with all staff.
Whilst we celebrate the achievement of Year 12 students in successfully completing their secondary schooling, it is also a sad time in some ways as well. Year 12 students, and teachers, will be reflecting on the relationships and experiences that have defined their Staughton College experience throughout the next few weeks.
I have personally enjoyed getting to know the class of 2017 as they have moved through the school. I hope that they are also studying hard, and we wish them the best of luck in the upcoming exams. I would also like to again thank the all the teachers who have worked so hard with these students during their time at Staughton.
Cultural Family Picnic
Last week, we held our annual Cultural Family Picnic. It was a terrific success, despite concerns about the weather.
The picnic is a great opportunity to celebrate the diversity of our community and the way we work together at Staughton. I really enjoyed the singing and dancing performances by students. This year it was great to see an increase in local community participation including local Melton Police. It was also great to see younger siblings of our students attend with their families, as well as the young children of some of our staff.
This is now a real signature event on the Staughton Calendar.
Please note the General Office will close for payments for 2017 on Wednesday 20th December at 1.30pm. The General Office will be closed on Thursday 21st and Friday 22nd December.
