Curriculum

With a curriculum day and a public holiday, we’ve had a short but sweet week this week! The 1/2's have been enjoying participating in the mascot challenge, continuously practicing our throwing and catching skills!

In Maths, we have been reviewing our Multiplication and Division strategies such as the ‘VW’ strategy, Fact Families, and repeated subtraction and addition. We enjoyed playing some new multiplication games and going on a Multiplication and Division scavenger hunt around our classrooms to practice these strategies.

In Literacy, we have been incorporating student voice and choice into our classrooms by working on a literacy task board. Students were given the opportunity to choose the task they would like to complete and show of their character strengths of creativity while completing their selected activity. It has been a pleasure to see students challenging themselves to create various book reviews, character portraits, book setting maps, and other activities throughout the week!

We enjoyed creating poppies on Friday and learning about Remembrance Day. We are looking forward to the Remembrance Day ceremony held on Monday afternoon where we will spend the time to remember those who fought for our Country.

With one more week before our swimming program starts, we look forward to what this upcoming week will bring!

Have a great week!

Miss Megan Campbell, Miss Emma Marsh, Miss Emma Honan, Miss Emily Kiefte, Mrs Emma McCoy, Mr Aidan O'Connor and Mrs Emily Sutherland.
