News from the Science Lab

Welcome back to term 4. I hope everyone had and relaxing and fun-filled holiday. This term in Science we will be covering biological sciences.

Year 1 will be looking at features of living things in different environments. They will also be learning more about dinosaurs.

Year 2 will be focussing on life cycles of animals.

Year 3 will be learning about ways to classify different types of living things.

Year 4 will be conducting studies on eucalypt trees.

Year 5 will be studying animals and plants that have adapted to survive in desert environments.

Year 6 will be conducting investigations on microorganisms.

Year 1 have begun looking learning about dinosaurs and now realize we can’t be sure what dinosaurs actually sounded like. They also had fun looking at dinosaur pictures using 3D glasses.

Year 2 had fun making butterfly life cycles using pasta.

Year 4 began looking at trees in the school grounds to try to identify eucalypt trees.

Year 6 began by working in groups to classify organisms. There was a lot of discussion and collaboration needed to achieve desired outcomes.

This week we also had blinds installed as the first part of our science grant. This will make viewing the Smartboard much easier.
