From the Principals Desk
Welcome back to our existing families and welcome to our new families. It is great to see students already hard at work across the school. EDU Dance, our school dance/physical education program has commenced with a great deal of energy and enthusiasm from our students. Due to the size of our school, we will be holding two evening dance concerts to showcase the dance students are learning in the last weeks of Term 4. Telstra Grant
If any parents/carers work for Telstra there is a grant that can be applied for, for your local school. It closes next Friday 25th Oct. Please contact Phil Bradshaw if you are willing to nominate Burrendah PS for a grant. More information is provided in the link https://telstrakidsfund.com/
Kindergarten Assembly
Our Kindergarten classrooms will be presenting two assemblies this term. The first Kindergarten Assembly will be in Week 6, Friday 22nd November. The 2nd Kindergarten Assembly will be in Week 8 when this group of students normally attend school. This means this Kindergarten Assembly will be held on Thursday 5th December instead of the usual Friday.
Senior Playground
Concept 1 had 335 school community votes, Concept 2 had 133 votes. With Concept 1 having the most number of votes we have organised with KOMPAN to install this option. While the timeline will be tight we are hopeful that the playground will be ready for students in the final weeks of the year. The senior playground will be placed on the oval near our vegetable garden/Room 12.
Year 6 Fundraiser
The Year 6 students will be holding their yearly fundraiser tomorrow Friday 18th Oct at recess. Students are able to attend school in free dress for the cost of a gold coin donation. There will be market type stalls conducted by the Year 6 students at recess in the undercover area for students to buy items or participate in activities. Funds raised go towards a gift for the school.
2020 Class Structure
Over the coming weeks we will be working on our 2020 classroom structure. If your child is in Year 1- Year 6 for next year and they are not returning to Burrendah PS please notify Reception. Kindergarten and Pre-Primary enrolments have been completed for 2020.
2020 Class Placement
The Class Placement Policy is on our website. Please refer to this policy if you have information you would like to have considered towards classroom placement needs of your child for next year. This information needs to be put in writing and addressed to the Principal. This information is required by Friday 22nd November. Alternatively, you are able to email your request via Reception through julie.scaramella@education.wa.edu.au
