From the Principal

'When the student is ready, the teacher appears.

When the student is truly ready, the teacher disappears.'

                                                                 Lao Tzu

‘A journey of a thousand miles begins with one step’, said Lao Tzu. Whatever the destination, whatever the goal, until we take the first step, nothing will happen. But until we know where we’re going, we can’t take a step.

Clarity around what we truly desire is the first step in achieving it. So often we have no idea what we want, or we keep changing our minds so that nothing really gets established in our thought. It is amazing how the universe will conspire to bring about your desire when the desire is clear and we start to move in its direction; even when we have no idea how it will come about.

Mary Baker Eddy said: ‘Hold thought steadfastly to the enduring, the good and the true, and you will bring these into your experience proportionably to their occupancy of your thoughts’. You will bring anything about when you have a clear vision and can take the first step.

Have a great journey and may all your teachers disappear! (See the thought above.)

The recent Senior School production of ‘Godspell’ was a spectacular hit and I am so grateful to everyone involved. To the production team of Christine Cochrane, Vivienne Perry, Daniel Borbely, Evan Pugh and Claudia Ohlert, assisted by Jai Denny, Tata Survi and many others, congratulations. Everyone was thrilled with the show. The dancing, singing and acting was superb. Every word could be heard and the stage lighting, special effects and sound effects enhanced the whole show. The band provided such a variety of sound, from rock music to gentle folk music which reflected the moods created. To all the performers themselves, congratulations on a wonderful show. You totally became your parts and gave the audience an experience to remember.

This week the Senior School will be holding the House Cross Country Competition at Jells Park and we wish all students a successful carnival. Later this term we will take part in the EISM Cross Country Carnival which is held at Ruffey Park in Doncaster. We wish the team every success. Thank you to Ms Buhagiar for her organisation for the carnival and to all those teachers who have supported early morning training and who will help on both days.

The Junior School is hard at work preparing for their production of ‘Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat’. They are all having such fun and we look forward to seeing another spectacular Huntingtower Production. Thank you so much to everyone involved in the production and I look forward to seeing you at one of the shows.
