Community Engagement

Alone, we can do so little; together, we can do so much” – Helen Keller

Last week, our Year 6 leaders had the pleasure of visiting Waterfall Gully Preschool on Tuesday and Thursday with Mrs Koole, Ms McDermott and Mrs Driscoll. The leaders led the 4 year old children in an Indigenous Incursion, which they prepared at school with the support of Mrs Heggen and Mrs Kostopoulos. The Preschool teachers were very impressed with how our leaders engaged with their students and said they were very polite and well-mannered. They certainly did us proud!

Here are some highlights from our leaders:

I liked making the rainbow serpent and reading a story. My kinder buddy showed me how to make a clay bird, which she learnt to do at Bush Kinder.

Hayley, Year 6

I enjoyed watching the kinder children dance and act out the Australian animals. It was great to visit my old kinder and chat with my teacher.

Sadie, Year 6

I enjoyed making the rainbow serpent with my buddy. We also read a story together, which he thought was hilarious. My buddy also painted a picture of me.

Ruby, Year 6
