Faith Life Inquiry

The Faith Life Inquiry focus for this term has enabled each level to explore a particular religious focus. The Junior classes have looked at the Creation Genesis narrative; Noah’s Ark and St Francis of Assisi as they explored Our Planet Earth. The older students have been inquiring into Religious Truths in the creation Narratives and how Science and Faith are both necessary wings in Catholicism. It would be great if you could have a chat to children about what they have discovered and what they are thinking now! It has been wonderful to see so many engaging incursions and excursions taking place throughout this Term’s learning. Our teachers and co-educators are going above and beyond to provide the best possible learning environments for our students. Well done to everyone involved.
Our School of the Good Shepherd community are very excited for the year four students as they prepare to receive the Sacrament of First Holy Communion this weekend. We pray for each child and their families as they commence this life long journey of faith and we ask you to pray for a deeper understanding of this beautiful Sacrament throughout the world.
Once again the strength of our parent community was on display on Tuesday night’s Eucharist Parent Night as so many families were in attendance. It was an opportunity to hear about the children’s learning sequence whilst deepening our adult knowledge of the wonderful Sacrament of the Mass. Thank you so much for your participation in this night.
I would like to share our prayer from this night with you all. We began by focusing on the image of the Prince of peace painted by an eight year old Russian girl, Arkiane.
We listened to the song: The Face of Love

And we prayed this prayer together.
Lord Jesus,
Help us remember that when we come to your sacred table,
we nourish ourselves, not with bread but with YOURSELF, true Bread of eternal life.
Help us to recognise and celebrate your presence every day in our lives.
Walk with us on our journey of faith as you once did with the disciples on the road of Emmaus.
Be with our children as they meet you more deeply in the celebration of the Eucharist.
For the bread and wine that gives everlasting life so that we can love God with all our strength WE THANK YOU LORD
For the Eucharist that proclaims your glory WE THANK YOU LORD
For you Christ Jesus who are always with us WE THANK YOU LORD.
In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit
Amen
Take care and God bless,
Caith Malone
